If you’re coming to Idyllwild and you’re looking for the best, this is it. Serene and secluded, the Cabin at Chimney Rock is known for the best views in Idy, and is situated in an immaculate location. Over 2 acres in the forest shared with abundant wildlife, the front yard with hot tub and double hammock is fenced and nudity friendly. The 2800 sq ft cabin was built in 1982 with first rate craftsmanship and materials. Enjoy cooking on the Wolf range or the rotisserie oven and all the culinary amenities you’ll need, but remember to take a break and enjoy the serenity. Four fireplaces and two wood stoves, AC, and a westerly breeze keep it just the way you want it. Stone floors, stained glass, plenty of sunlight, spectacular stargazing, abundant wildlife, closest neighbor is about 100 yards away. The master bedroom and bath upstairs is separated from the guest bedroom and bath by a TV room w/ 44″ Sony Bravia HD. The stereo system in the main room can also service speakers in the kitchen and the den. The library is gorgeous and furnished in Mission antiques. There’s nothing like this in Idy. Trophy property for discerning and sybaritic guests.
One week minimum stay. Not for weekends, parties, weddings, etc. This cabin is better designed for artists, writers, nature lovers, monks and those seeking solitude, tranquility, and refuge from the clank of the world. Most homes in Idyllwild are right up next to each other. This cabin is off on its own, in a league of its own.
The village of Idyllwild is four minutes by car. There you will find 11 restaurants (Cafe Aroma is our favorite), 2 gas stations, post office, pharmacy, supermarket, health food store, movie theater, and most of what you’ll need for your journey into the forest. What we don’t have: traffic, parking meters, stop lights, gangs and swat teams. The Idyllwild Arts Academy is a world renowned prep school for artistically gifted youth. Idy hosts the annual Jazz in the Pines, as well as many other music and theater festivals year round. Even though there is a lot to do in Idyllwild and around, most visitors to the Cabin at Chimney Rock say they don’t want to leave or do anything. Relax. Rejuvenate. Enjoy.
